The Coronado Beach is located south of the city of San Diego. Coronado Beach is one of the most famous beaches in southern California. It was the filming location of the movie “some like it hot” starring Marilyn Monroe, Jack Lemmon and Tony Curtis. The famous Hotel Del Coronado and the beach at the hotel were used in the movie. Dangerous currents are situated close to the Hotel Del Coronado. Warning signs exist at the beach. The swimming area is located at both sides of the beach. Coronado Beach is a scenic wide leveled sandy beach. Walking through the loose sand of this beach can be exhausting.

Directions to the Coronado Beach in San Diego:
From Interstate 5 (I-5) turn west on California State Route 75 towards the city of Coronado. In Coronado the California State Route 75 turns left (southbound) and is also known as Orange Avenue. A few parking spots are located at the Avenida Del Sol. The Avenida Del Sol is situated south of the Hotel del Coronado (at the right roadside of the California State Route 75). More parking spots are located at the Ocean Boulevard (north of the Hotel del Coronado). From California State Route 75 turn right on Churchill Pl. which becomes Ocean Boulevard.
