Oregon Beaches.

Beach Overview of Oregons Beaches at the Pacific Coast from the north to the south:

Columbia Beach (Fort Stevens State Park):
Columbia Beach is situated at Fort Stevens State Park and Fort Stevens State Park is situated west of the city of Astoria. The sandy beach at Columbia Beach is leveled and has a special attraction, the stranded shipwreck of the ship “Peter Iredale”. The shipwreck is a famous place to take some pictures. At Fort Stevens State Park, there is also the historic Fort Stevens.  During World War II., the Fort used to be a military base. There are restrooms and campgrounds at Fort Stevens State Park. No entrance fee is charged at Fort Stevens State Park (as at: September 2009).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sunset Beach State Recreation Area:
The beach at the Sunset Beach Recreation Area is a wide leveled grey sandy beach. At the side of the beach are big sandy dunes.  There are restrooms at the Sunset Beach State Recreation Area No entrance fee is charged at Sunset Beach State Recreation Area (as at: September 2009).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Cannon Beach:
Cannon Beach is situated next to the city with the same name. At the southern end of Cannon Beach is Haystack Rock, a large and famous rock. There is no entrance fee at Cannon Beach. Free parking spots are available at the side roads (as at: September 2009). Parking spots are rare during high season. Haystack Rock and the Ecola State Park (which is situated north of Cannon Beach),  where movie sets for the movie “The Goonies”. More movie sets of this movie were at the city of Astoria.
At Ecola State Park, you have a beautiful view of Cannon Beach and Haystack Rock. (Entrance Fee: $5.- as at: January 2010).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Tolovana Beach State Park:
Tolovana Beach State Park is situated at the southern side of Haystack Rock (which still belongs to the city of Cannon Beach). The beach at Toloyana Beach State Park is a wide leveled grey sandy beach. No entrance fee is charged at Toloyana Beach State Park (as at: October 2009).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Arcadia Beach State Park:
The Arcadia Beach State Park is located next to the US Route 101 (Highway 101). Arcadia Beach is a leveled grey sandy beach. The northern end of Arcadia Beach is at  Humbug Point, which is a small rocky hill. West of Humbug Points, there is a small rock within the Pacific Ocean. This rock is called  Lion Rock. The parking lot is small and graveled.  No entrance fee is charged (as at: September 2009). Restrooms are provided at the Arcadia Beach State Park.

 

 

 

 

 

Manhattan State Recreation Area:
There is a wide leveled sandy beach at the Manhattan State Recreation Area. No entrance fee is charged at the Manhattan State Recreation Area (as at: October 2009).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Lincoln City Beach:
The beach at Lincoln City is a wide, leveled grey sandy beach. The beachs name is Lincoln City Beach.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Gleneden State Park:
A short trail leads from the parking lot to the wide sandy beach of Gleneden State Park. There is no entrance fee at Gleneden State Park (as at: October 2009).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Moolack Beach:
Moolack Beach is a white leveled sandy beach. The beach is situated north of the Yaquina Head Lighthouse and the city of Newport There is no entrance fee and no parking fee at Moolack Beach. (as at: September 2009). No restrooms are provided at Moolack Beach.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Agate Beach State Park:
Agate Beach State Park  is situated south of the Yaquina Head Lighthouse. There are small sand dunes between the beach and the US Route 1 (Highway 1). The sandy beach at Agate Beach State Park is wide and leveled. Restrooms are provided at the Agate Beach State Park. No entrence fee and no parking fee is charged (as at: September 2009).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

South Beach State Park:
The beach at South Beach State Park is situated behind beautiful sand dunes, which are covered with grass. The beach at South Beach State Park is a wide and leveled sandy beach. The waves of the Pacific Ocean are small. Restrooms are provided at the South Beach State Park. A tube with fresh water can be used for washing or cleaning purposes. No parking fee and no entrance fee is charged at the South Beach State Park (as at: September 2009).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ona Beach State Park:
A short Trail leads from the parking lot of the Ona Beach State Park to a bridge. At the other side of the bridge, there is a wide leveled grey sandy beach. If you don’t like the cold water of the Pacific Ocean, there is also warmer water available. The fresh water of the pond at the beach is a lot warmer than the saltwater of the Pacific Ocean. Restrooms are provided at the Ona Beach state Park. There is no entrance fee and no parking fee at this beach (as at: September 2009).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Seal Rock State Park:
The scenic Seal Rock State Park has a small beautiful sandy beach. A short trail leads from the parking lot to the beach. There are restrooms provided at Seal Rock State Park. The parking and the visit are free at Seal Rock State Park (as at: September 2009).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Driftwood Beach:
Driftwood Beach is a leveled white sandy beach. Restrooms are provided at  Driftwood Beach. No parking fee and no admission is charged (as at: September 2009).

 

 

 

 

 

 

Beachside State Park:
A short trail leads from the parking lot through the sandy dunes. The beach of the Beachside State Park is situated right behind those dunes. The sandy beach is wide and leveled. The waves are rather small. There is a campground at Beachside State Park and restrooms are provided. No entrance fee and no parking fee is charged at this beach (as at: September 2009).

Cape Perpetua:
This leveled beach is situated between Devils Churn und and the southern part of Cape Perpetua. There are no restrooms available. No entrance fee and no parking fee is charged at this beach (as at: September 2009).

 

 

 

 

 

Neptune Beach:
There are a lot of rocks at Neptune Beach. There are better beaches to spend a day at the beach. Restrooms are provided at Neptune Beach.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Stonefield Beach State Recreation Site (View from Brays Point):
Stonefield Beach is a wide sandy beach. The right part of the beach (right side of the picture) belongs to the Stonefield Beach State Recreation Site. There is no entrance fee at Stonefield Beach (as at: Oktober 2009).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Muriel O. Ponsler Beach:
The Muriel O. Ponsler Beach is a leveled white  sandy beach. No admission and no parking fee is charged at the Muriel O. Ponsler Beach (as at: Oktober 2009).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Carl G. Washburne State Park:
The Carl G. Washburne State Park is situated directly at the southern end of the Muriel O. Ponsler Beach. The wide leveled white sandy beach is framed between wide sand dunes at one side and the small waves of the Pacific Ocean at the other side. There is a campground at  Carl G. Washburne State Park. Restrooms are provided at this State Park. No parking fee and no entrance fee is charged at the Carl G. Washburne State Park (as at: September 2009).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Heceta Head Lighthouse (Cape Cove Beach):
Cape Cove Beach is situated at the Bay of the Heceta Lighthouse. This beach can’t be used for a day at the beach. The parking lot at Cape Cove Beach belongs to the Heceta Head Lighthouse State Scenic Viewpoint. The parking fee and the entrance fee for the Heceta Lighthouse is $5.- (as at: January 2010). There are restrooms at the Cape Cove Beach and the Heceta Head Lighthouse.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Heceta Beach / Baker Beach:
Heceta Beach / Baker Beach is a long and wide sandy beach. This beach is situated south of the  Heceta Lighthouse and south of the Sea Lion Caves. Near the Heketa Beach / Baker Beach is Cox Rock, a distintive Rock inside the Pacific Ocean (picture at the left top side).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Oregon Dunes National Seashore:
The entrance fee at the Oregon Dunes National Seashore is $5.- (as at: September 2009). There are trails, campgrounds, restrooms, beaches and sand dunes at the Oregon Dunes National Seashore. At some sand dunes, it is allowed to drive with an ATV or a dune buggy over the dunes.

 

 

 

South Jetty Dunes & Beach - The beach at the South Jetty Dunes & Beach is situated behind a huge sand dune. A sandy trail leads over the dune. The hike through the loose sand is exhausting. The view from the sand dune is a beautiful sight on the sandy beach. Restrooms are provided at the South Jetty Dunes & Beach. The lower picture shows one of the sandy dunes at South Jetty. It is allowed to drive an ATV or a dune buggy at this dune.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Siltcoos Beach - A trail leads from the parking lot over a sand dune to Siltcoos Beach. The sand is loose and the hike over the dune is exhausting. The beach at Siltcoos Beach is picturesque. Restrooms are provided at the parking lot of Siltcoos Beach.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Horsfall Beach - There is a campground at the Horsefall Beach of the Oregon Dunes National Seashore. There are also sand dunes where it is allowed to drive an ATV or a dune buggy. The beach at Horsfall Beach is a wide and leveled sandy beach. Restrooms are also provided at Horsfall Beach.
