Fort De Soto Park (Mullet Key) - Fort De Soto Parks North Beach is one of the best beaches of the USA. Thanks to it’s leveled white sandy beach, North Beach is one of the most popular beaches in St. Petersburg. A historic fort and a campground are situated at the Fort De Soto Park. Restrooms and showers are provided at this beach. No entrance fee is charged at the Fort De Soto Park. The drive to the Fort De Soto Park leads over toll bridges. The toll can be payed with Quarters and / or bills (the toll is not expensive).

 

- North Beach - North Beach is by far the most beautiful beach at the Fort de Soto Park. It is a real dreambeach that is very popular. A cafe, showers and restrooms are provided at this beach. - Gulf Pier Beach - The Gulf Pier Beach is located next to the historic Fort De Soto. This beach is not marked as one of the swimming beaches of the Fort De Soto Park. St. Petersburg Beach - The sand at the St. Petersburg Beach is grainy. There are also some parts of shells at the sand. A cafe, showers and restrooms are provided at the m St. Petersburg Beach. Treasure Island - The beach at Treasure Island is very fine and white. The water at this beach is blue and the waves are really nice. Not far from the beach, the water gets deep enough for swimming. There is no fee at the small parking lot (as at: Mai 2009). Most of this beachs visitors are parking at their hotels.

Sand Key Park - At Sand Key Park there is a wide white leveled sandy beach. Sand Key Park has a huge parking lot. There are parking meters (as at: Mai 2009) therefore parking for a longer period of time is pretty expensive. A machine exchanges bills into Quarters.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Clearwater Beach - Clearwater Beach is a famous sandy beach which is white and leveled. There are only a few parking spots along the road. Parking spots close to the beach are rare.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Caladesi Beach  / Caladesi Island State Park - The fine white sandy beach at the Caldesi Beach is well known from the ads of the Greater St. Petersburg Area. Caldesi Beach is a real dreambeach and one of the best beaches in Florida. Caldesi Beach  is also one of the most popular beaches in Florida. At the shoreline, there are plenty of small shells lying in the white sand. Showers, restrooms, a playground and a cafe are provided at this beach. No entrance fee is charged at the Caladesi Beach, because it is already necessary to pay the entrance fee at the Honeymoon State Park. The ferry to the Caladesi Beach leaves at the Honeymoon Island State Park. The passage costs $12.- (as at: April 2010) and takes about 15 minutes. The returntime is fixed. After four hours at the Caladesi Beach you have to return to the Honeymoon Island. An earlier passage is possible if there’s some space left at the ferry. Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Island used to be one island. A hurricane separated the original island into todays two islands. Dunedin Causeway / Dunedin Beach - Dunedin Beach is located at the highway that leads to the Honeymoon Island. The sand at this beach is fine. Small stones are lying at the shoreline. Restrooms are provided at this beach. No parking fee is charged at the Dunedin Causeway / Dunedin Beach (as at: April 2010).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Honeymoon Island State Park - The sand at the Honeymoon Island State Park is very fine and white. At the shoreline are a few shells. A cafe is situated at the Honeymoon Island State Park. Showers and restrooms are provided at this beach.  The entrance fee resp. the parking fee is $4.- for one person resp. $8.- for two to eight persons at the Honeymoon Island State Park (as at: April 2010). Honeymoon Island and Caladesi Island used to be one island. A hurricane separated the original island into todays two islands.
